In this article, we will discuss “How to Access a Hosting Account using SSH”. We can access any hosting via multiple ways such as FTP, SFTP, cPanel, and SSH. Today, I’m going to explain to you, how you can access a hosting account using SSH.

There is two way to access SSH such as SSH using cPanel details and SSH using SSH Key. Also, we are using PuTTY SSH client to access the hosting account.

Download your copy of  PuTTY SSH client, and install it. Then follow the given steps.

Step 1: Open PuTTY, and put your hostname or IP address of the server into the Host Name field. After that put port no into the Port field, choose SSH as your connection type and press the Open button.

Step 2: If any security alert or message shown then simply click on OK.

Step 3: After successful processing, SSH client has shown a terminal view. Here you need to enter your cPanel username and password. Note that, when you enter the password, it is automatically hidden for security issues. Means password does not show in the terminal.
